1. Remove top cover

2. Gently lift top cover off.

3. Remove capacitor lead from contact set (points).

4. Push off the coil female spade connector

from contact set.

5. Remove distributor cap/ rotor assembly.

6. Just for reference, and showing the general area of the housing where the

coil/ stud terminal will be located. The

depth to the casting shelf measurement

is 1.00”.

7. Here showing the distance from the casting step to center of screw hole for

distributor cap.This measurement is also

1.00”.

8. The preferred location of the new coil

terminal will be here. Note the indexed center punch mark for drilling. The

distance shown from the center of the

distributor cap screw hole is .625”.

9. The distance shown from the top face

of the housing is also .625”

10. At this location, drill a .250” hole and

de-bur.

12. This is the hardware layout for the coil stud terminal.

13. Coil stud terminal installed with male

flag terminal. Note between the shoulder

insulating washers at the housing a small

amount of 2-part epoxy can be applied

for extra rotation resistance on stud. Just

snug, do not final tighten.

14. Install coil female terminal to male flag.

15. Rotate the male flag terminal to the 3

o’clock position, gently routing the coil wire

into a small loop.

16. Now finish tightening the stud/terminal assembly.

17. Re-install the distributor cap/ rotor

assembly at the proper distributor gear

timing location for your magneto.

18. Re-connect the capacitor lead to the contact set. This will be the only connection

to the contact set.

19. Install top cover.

20. Magneto is ready for install.
